  • Inspect suspension and steering components
  • Inspect tires for uneven wear and damage
  • Inspect wiper/washer systems and fluid
  • Replace Genuine Subaru oil filter
  • Replace Genuine synthetic oil
  • Replace oil drain plug gasket
  • Rotate and balance tires
  • Service battery terminals

12,000-Mile Interval

At 12,000 miles, more in-depth maintenance should be done, which includes all of the service checks listed in the 6,000-mile interval. During this time, the steering and suspension will be inspected, as well as your braking and clutch systems. It’s recommended to have the air filter in your Subaru vehicle’s HVAC system switched out. 30,000-Mile Interval

At the 30,000-mile mark is when the intensive maintenance check takes place since this means your vehicle has been out on the road for a while. A few services that take place include the brake fluid and the air filter will get replaced. This also means an inspection of the drive belt, cooling system, and fuel system will take place. Keep in mind, if your Outback has a manual transmission, then the clutch and transmission fluid will get replaced. So be sure to pay attention to your manual vehicles too!
